Pohangina Notes.
Mr F. R. Jackson wielded the hammer (on behalf of Abraham and Williams) at the stock sale here on Wednesday. latt. The day was bright and warnjj and most of the farmers in the district! were present, resulting in a substantial clearance of ail stock brought forward. The general feeling predominated that it was one more step towards establishing permanent sales here, and also that the yards were very suitable for the purpose. Taking the distance into consideration, the prices were fully equal to those ruling in Palmerston North, every. thing of acy value whatever being quitted. A meeting is called for noon on 12th October next to discuss the loan proposal. Place of meeting, County Council office here. "'~ I believe the Councillor for the. P-obau-glna hiding will shortly aedress. the/ ratepayersPlease remember the concert and dance on October 4th.— Standard.
