Fire Insurance Rates.
(Per i J ress Association). Wellington, Sept. 13. A meeting of Fire Insurance Companies doing business in Wellington was held for the purpose of inaugurating a Wellington Fire Underwriters' Association. Every office in Wellington was represented. Mr A. M. Simpson (general manager for New Zealand of the Phoenix Assurance) was elected chairman of the Association, and Mr C. A. Campbell (branch manager of the National Insurance Company) vice-chair-man. A special meeting of the Association will be held to decide upon what date the new tariff is to come into operation. The new Association includes every company doing fire business in Wellington.
