Breaches of the Bankruptcy Act.

(Per Press Association). Wellington, Sept. 13. Chec Quin, a Chinaman, was committed for trial for a breach of the Bankruptcy Act, in contracting a debt without i reasonable expectation of paying it. At a meeting of creditors of Mrs A. E. Kirk, storekeeper, the loss of LIBO in six months was shown in the business while it was managed by her husband, who was an uncertificated bankrupt. Counsel suggested that proceedings should be instituted against her husband for obtaining goods under false pretences.
