SPLENDID WIN FOR STODDART'S TEAM. (Per Ijhess Anaocixtion.) London, September 11. Stoddart declared the second innings closed with six wickets down for 289. Ford was not out 111, Lockwood not out 60. This left England 293 to win, but they made a wretched stand, and all were disposed of for 68, leaving Stoddart's eleven victors by 224 runs. Scores : — England — Second innings : Grace, 8 ; Abel, 7 ; Davidson, 5 ; Shrewsbury, 1 ; Lilley, 2 ; W. Reade 18 ; Woods, 6 ; Townsend, 7 ; Pougher 2 ; Martin, 7 : Mold, 1 ; extras 4. Total, 68. Richardson took 6 wickets, for 21 and Peel 5 for 23.
