INVERCARGILL, Sept. 11. Sydnky, This Day. In the Assembly the Custom Duties Bill was read a second time by 46 to 26. In Council the Premier moved the present duties cease and new duties be levied immediately the Bill passes instead of on September 13th, as previously proposed. This was carried, and the Bill passed through committee. The debate in the Council on the reform of the Council Bill promises to be protracted, The Postmaster-General has decided to fall in with Victoria and Queensland in regard to the Pacific cable.
