I It is with feelings of the deepest regret we have to announce tbe death of Mrs H J. Carter, of Feilding, which occurred yesterday. The funeral will leave her late residence, Prince street, for the Feilding cemetery at JO a.m. on Saturday morning. The ladies of Feildiug and surrounding districts will be interested to know that Te Aro House branch has secured the services of an experienced and stylish dressmaker who will commence work on the 20th of this month. Ladies are kindly invited to reserve their orders until then. Herald's correspondent. Matthew B. Wyatt, an unqualified medical practition, sued a railway employe in Melbourne for £9 for medical attendance. The defence was that Wyatt, not being duly qualified, could not recover, and that in representing himself as qualified he had deceived the defendant. Wyatt said he had not represented himself as duly qualified, and there being no Medical Act in New South Wales, anybody could practice medicine and recover for services rendered. The Bench commented upon tbo want of legislation preventing unqualified men from practising, and gave judgment for plaintiff for .I*3.
