' F. R. Jackson and Co. report at Johnsonville : —We had a good entry of beef but only a small number of sheep. Both cattle and sheep improved in value ; of I the former one line was very prime quality, the rest medium and inferior. Pigs sold at full rates. Cattle —Best bullocks, L 8 17s 6d to L 9 15s ; others, L 7 5s to L 8 5s ; low-conditioned steers, Lsss to £6. Sheep —Wethers, lis 7d to 13s ld : ewes, 10s to 10s 3d. Pigs— Baconers, 32s 6d to 34s 6d ; porkers, 16s to~___ • snialj pigs, 6s 6d to 12s 6d. At Gorton and Son's stock sale at Bulls yesterday there was not much demand for sheep, most of the pens having been passed.
