Sir,— Don't yon think it is quite time that yon made use of that well-known editorial note " This correspondence must now cease " in the case of a rather frequent correspondent to your paper who signs himself " George Wilks " ? I would remind this Mr George Wilks that all would-be literary men who rush into print, deluge the press, and burden the public whenever they wish to air their petty grievances, be they Socialistic fads or Legislative fancies, render themselves liable to the severest comment and criticism. But, possibly, this reminder may not cool Mr George Wilks' ardour. To come to the point, many of as are tired, heartly sick of these letters, and with all due respect to yonr correspondent " George Wilks " I would ask him, or if BOt him, you sir, as editor to stop them for a bit and give us a spell. A word of explanation. Personally, I am unacquainted with " George Wilks." I have never seen him or heard of him outside the correspondence column of your newspaper. But I have read bis letters, and if the " doing " Mr West of Colyton gave him, the letter signed " Blarney," your gentle hint in last Saturday's issue, and any remarks I may have made here, any of these, or all combined, will check bis endless flow of uninteresting verbiage, then indeed I shall rejoice and be glad.
