The Stock Market.
Lowes and lorus report that at their Masterton stock sale on Wednesday the stock entered was much inferior in quality to that of last sale and bidding less spirited, several lots at the commencement of the sale being passed but were mostly placed after. The following are the prices obtained :— Ewes in lamb, 6s to 5s ; hoggets, 4s lOd to 7s Id ; fat cows and heifers, L 4 10s to L 5 10s ; small steers L 5 ; dairy cows, from L 4 to £5 15s ; heifers, L 4; yearlings and 18-mons 30s to 50s : calves, 15s to 20s. No pigs came forward.
