The Auckland Mining Boom.

(Per Press Association.) Auckland, September 3. An assay made six feet into tbe Martha lode in No. 2 level, Waihi mine, gives 22 dwts of pnre gold to the ton and shows an improvement as the lode is penetrated. The assay so far gives 7 dwts and 16 dwts and 22 dwts. Great excitement exists in Coromandel owing to the discovery of a rich gold bearing reef near Kennedy's Bay. Forty men started to peg oat claims round the new find, the whole Te Aroha Mountain being rapidly pegged out. Splendid assays from the reef Nil Desperandnm, Te Aroba District, have been discovered by Clavkson, one of the discovers of the Shotover. The Great Barrier Island copper pre has been bought by an English syndicate. The Great Barrier Is. land Copper Mine and 130,000 acres of the northern part of the Island have been bought by an English syndicate. The &yndiqate intend working the con. per deposits extensively and vigorously developing the property. It is stated that besides copper, antimony, silver and platinum are also there.
