Feilding School Committee.
O The monthly meeting of the above Committee was held in the schoolroom last evening. Present — Messrs H. "Worsfold (chairman), O. Bray, junr., "W. G. Haybittie, \V. Carthew, Gould, Thompson and Parker (secretary). The minutes of the previous meeting wero read and confirmed. An apology was received from Mr W. G. Shearer, asking to be excused from attendance. The Headmaster's report for the month was read, which showed that the average attendance for the month was 296 ; also asking for a few necessary articles for school use. A letter was read from Messrs Fiddler and Scott re an addition of 10s per quarter for their services. Accounts were received from Mr Smith for firewood, £1 2s and Mrs Turner, for cleaning school. It was resolved that the correspondence and accounts be received, except the latter for firewood which would be dealt with at next meeting. Some items were read from the log book, which Mr Bray took exception to, aud stated they should have been entered in the notes read at last meeting, having occurred before that date. Messrs Haybittie and Thompson also took exception to these notes. On the motion standing iv Mr Parker's name, which has already been published, being brought up the meeting went into committee, and after about an hour's consideration, the following resolution was put to the meeting and carried unaniniouslv : — 11 That, owing to the discourteous manner in which the Headmaster has treated this Committee, and the friction caused thereby, this Committee would suggest that the Wanganui Education Board be requested to appoint a deputation to investigate this matter as this Committee is of opinion that the present state of affairs is detrimental to the best interests of the school. And that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the Headmaster." Messrs Gould and Bray were appointed a visiting committee for the present month. This being all the business, the meeting terminated with the usual vote of thanks to the Chairman.
