The Stock Market.

Mr J. R. McMillan held a very successful auction sale on Saturday last at his premises in the Square. The livery plant caused keen competition, and the main portion of it was disposed of at very satisfactory prices. A double buggy with horse aud harness, fetched £36 ; single seated buggy, £l'd 10s ; bay pony, £7 10s ; chestnut mare, L 6 10s 6d, and brake harnese, L 6 2s 6d. The remaining portion, viz., brake aud cab, are in Mr McMillan's hands for private sale. Mr J. It. Montague gives the following quotations for the week : — Eating potatoes, Li 12s per ton ; good seed flukes, 4s pei* bag; apples l|d per lb; oranges, 2s per case ; prime bacon, 6d per lb ; inferior do. 2d to 4d : prime cheese, 5d ; tea, Is 4d and Is 6d per lb ; fowls, 23 6d ; ducks, 4s ; turkeys, 7s 6d per pair. Poultry of all kinds in great demand.
