OUR PUBLIC LIBRARY.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sir, —On asking a friend a day or two ago who were the committee of the above institution, I was rather surprised to learn that not one of the four clergymen of the town was on it. Now, sir, I am one of a goodly number who don't think this is right. If the library has any good influence-, is it of a moral as well as intellectual sort ? And should not the gentlemen whose principal business it is to cultivate and guard the moral atmosphere of the town be on the Committoe of Management ? Furthermore, I am informed that there are two seats on the committee vacant for some time. How is this thus ? Surely our library is not ran by a ring ? I am, &c, Querist.
