Pohangina Notes.
There was a football match here last Saturday between the Colyton and Pohangina teams, resulting in a win for Pohangina. Three matches have now been pkyed between these teams, Pohangina being the victor in two of them. Frank Lucas scored two tries for the winners, one of which he couverted into a goal. W. Adsett scored three tries and his brother Albert one, while another was scored by Mr Shadbolt. The total poiuts were twenty-three for Pohangina against nine for Colyton. We have a good team as evidenced by their play. On Saturday evening a meeting of milk suppliers was held in Hopkins' woolshed, when it was understood that the settlers would not supply any more milk unless they got more for it than they did last season. Mr Hopkins was appointed delegate for the meeting to be held in Wellington aud was instructed to use his best endeavours to have the head office transferred to Palmerston North, as it is more central for the district than Wellington is. The feeling of the meeting was that the manager should convene a meeting of the suppliers in this district and lay before them the proposals of the ensuing season. Mr Adsett has built a nice four-room-ed house on the old school house site. — Standard.
