(Per Press Association.) Hastings, August 28. A man was exhibiting quartz specimens here to-day, which he says he found at Lake Waikareinoana, near Wairoa. The stuff would crush several ounces to the ton. Christchurch, August 28. At the Police Court to-day, the charge against Alex. Gillies of passing valueless cheques at Otaki and Lower Hutt were withdrawn by the police.
