A Disastrous Storm.
(Per Press Association). MErjiouKNE, August 27. A severe storm passed over the Ballarat district. Many buildings were destroyed, and several others unroofed. The telegraph lines are down in all directions. The town is in darkness. A mixed train from Maryborough crashed into a heavy iron semaphone which was blown across the line, but luckily smashed through. The passengers were considerably shaken.
