Long Pending Litigation.
(Per Press Association.) Wellington, August 22. The case of Bavr, Johnson, and Co. (of Sydney) v. Oldham (of Patea) arising ont of a contract for supply of tinned meat, was mentioned in Chambers today, when Mr H. D. Bell, on behalf of the plaintiff, applied for a commission to examine witness in Batavia. Mr Hislop opposed the application, except upon terms, and finally the Chief Justice granted it on condition that plaintiffs paid £1000 into the Court to abide the result of the action.
