(Per Press Association). Washington, August 22. The American Government has demanded an indemnity ot 1,000,000 dollars from France to compensate Consul Waller for his harsh treatment in Madagascar. Waller was senteuced by the French to twenty years' imprisonment for assisting the Ilovas, and his comintr cial posessions confiscated.
