Meeting of Athletic Club Delegates.
o A meeting of delegates from athletic clubs in tbe Manawatu district was held in the Club Hotel last eveniug, to consider the advisability of forming a Protection Association to deal with defaulters to the various clubs in the district. Fifteen clubs were represented, Mr W. A, L. Bailey, of Feilding, being in the chair. It was decided that the Manawatu Athletic Clubs' Protection Association be formed. The rules of the Canterbury A.C.P. Association wero adopted, with one exception. It was decided to commence operations from October 31st, 1895, the financial year of the Association commencing from that date. Mr J. E. Prendergast was appointed bon. secretary, pro tern. The following Provisional Committee was elected to manage the Association till October: -Messrs Sherwill, Bailey, Feck, Bowater, Clarkson, Pyke, Macarthur. Votes of thanks to Mr Prendergast tho secretary, and to tho Chairman concluded the meeting.— Standard.
