MATTERS POLITICAL.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. ) Sin, — Mr West's letters have amused i me by their crudeness, impertinence, i and inaccurate statements. He knows • nothing whatever of an argument a \ posteriori or a priori. His last letter fc was on a par with tbe rest, for he says b I haye challenged him to meet him on a public platform (tbis is a specimen of . his impertinence) and then says I have > backed out of it. Tn this matter, as in everything else, he has, to put it very i mildly, jumped at conclusions, for I , have certainly never challenged him, i and consequently have never backed out of it ; but, Mr Editor, perhaps you will allow me to say that my offer to lecture • gratis (1) on Socialism, (2) Single Tax > including the so-called unearned incre- ; ments, and the so-called unimproved ; value, and (3) on the Socialistic views, $ as expressed in Hansard, of some of our legislators in accordance with my offer to tbe Feilding Debating Society is also open to any other district, Colyton included. — I am, etc., George Wilks. Foilding, 20th August, 1895.
