SOUTH AUSTRALIAN PARLIAMENT.
A CRISIS THREATENED. Adelaide, August 19. A Ministerial crisis is threatened over the suspension of two hospital nurses. The trouble arose through Miss Gordon, a sister of the Chief Secretary, being appointed Superintendant over them. They wore suspended for insubordination, but on an inquiry were practically acquitted. This led to strained relations with the Hospital and the Government majority. The Government have pledged their support and desire to see the nurses reinstated, but the Board strongly oppose this and threaten to resign if the Government persist in such course, which is almost certain to be followed by the resignation of at least Gordon and Cockburn. Meanwhile the nurses are obdurate aud refuse to accept anything less than absolute reinstatement in their old positions.
