The Postmaster at Taupo wired to the Secretary of the Post Office this afternoon :— " Earthquakes are still occurring, but not so severe. They are very j numerous. The southern and eastern ' licznks of Lake Taupo are ©aveJoped in dust caused by slips falling and tho wind blowing the dust about. The stuff is still coming down (pumice and great Loalders) and tbe wind is blowing about so as to completely blind travellers. Then on the other side of the Gorge is a i long catting leading to Hinemaia or tlaicpc river. This cutting has completely disappeared with much of the hill. All lias slid iuto the river, leaving a steep face. Then along other parts threat slips have occurred, leaving great boulders ready to drop.
