Celebrating German Victories.
"FROM BLOOD-STAINED SEED COMES A HARA'EST OF PEACE!" (Per Press Association.) Berlin, August 18. Queen Victoria telegraphed to the German Dragoons congratulating them on the heroic charge against Marshal Baijaine's troops at Mars-la-Tour. Ten thousand troops assembled to celebrate the anniversary of the victory, and decorate with wreaths the memorials of those who fell on that day. August 19. The Kaiser, in laying the foundation of the memorial of the battle of Grave* lotte, said that from the blood-stained seed there had sprung a harvest of peace, German unity and liberality. His grandfather had originated a European movement to ameliorate the condition of the working classes, and his memory lived in their hearts. The success of the army was traceable to its courage, honor and implicit obedience — qualities which if maintained would form the basis of peace for Europe.
