In deference to representations as to the necessity of telephone communication to Port Underwood where so many yes sels seek shelter in rough weather, provision will be made in the estimates for the purpose. A deputation including Archbishop Redwood waited on Messrs Reeves and Cadman to day in favour of inspection of Catholic schools by examiners and inspectors of Board schools. Mr Reeves said the Cabinet would consider whether the matter should be made mandatory on Boards. , This Day. ! Obituary— Mr H. C. Roljohns, a wel-1 known merchant, aged 76. Deceased arrived in Napier in 1859.
