At the last meeting of the Horowhenua County Council a letter was read asking the said Council to pass a resolution urging the Government to make an Order in Council for the construction of the line, ajid to agree to use the line when completed. Another letter was received from Mr Wilson M.H.R., much to the same effect adding at the same time that he understood the money for the enterprise was forthcoming. The Council passed the required resolution and a deputation was appointed to wait, on the Government to support such resolution. We do not think the Government will be likely to undertake a responsibility of this kind, especially as the proposed liuc if completed would iujurfe the traffic on the existing line without giving any compensating advantage.
