Important Insurance Case.

(Per Press Association). Melbourne, August 14. An important Insurance case lias been before the Supreme Court. The insurer sued the ne\y Oriental Banking Corpora^ tion for the vetnrn of a life policy "|o? £1000, effected for the benefit of his wife and children. He claimed £'dOQ damages for detention of the policy, whioh maturedin 1593. and had beeu deposited with the Bank in 1880, as the plaintiff alleged, for safe keeping. The defendant Corporation refused to surrender tho policy, on the ground that plaintiff was Largely indebted to the Bank and the policy had been placed with them as security. Justice Hodges, in giving a verdict for the plaintiff, said under the Marriud Woruens Property Apt 5. pc^itO' vj& ■"cciiieci fur the benefit of a wife and child, feu created a trust and formed no part )f the estate.
