Gross Cruelty to a Child.
]Per Press Association) Napier August IS. A case of extraordinary alleged cruelty to a child at Ormondville is reported. A girl of 18 was tied to a bedpost naked, and rlogged with a lash until the blood flew. She escaped aud informed the police. Her condition bearing out her statement, proceedings have been taken against her assailant, who is either her fathor or her guardian.
