The members of the Feilding Jockey Club have shown a commendable spirit of enterprise in deciding to purchase the land which includes the race course, and of liberality in ex tending the privileges attached to membership. fßy their land purchase a saving in expenditure will be affected at once, while in the near future the property will be a most valuable asset, the revenue from which will make the Club self supporting as far as regards keeping the course, grand stand and fences in good order. By their concession to those who hold members' tickets under which two ladies may also be admitted to all the privileges of the course, much has been done in ihe direction of making the Club popular in the best meaning of the term. Capable and independent owners of racehorses have already declared that not only is the Feilding Jockey Club one of the best conducted, but the course is not surpassed by any other in the Colony, and it is confidently believed that ia the future the Committee of management will not only maintain that reputation, but they will by judicious expenditure on the track and buildings, with careful attention to the wants and requirornonts of their patrons, still further add thereto.
