Shocking Death of a Parachutist.
(Per Press Association.) Adelaide, This Day. Miss Bassett, the parachutist met with a terrible death at a fete in Peterburg today. She was giving a performance iv the presence of thousands of people, and in the ascent the parachute was injured by contact with the telegraph wires. Miss Bassett jumped from a height of 60 feet and fell on her head, deatii being almost instantaneous. |
