The N.Z.L. and M.A. Company report for the week ending Friday, 2nd August, as follows : — Wool.— Under date 31st ult., our London offices cable as f ollows -.—Since the close of last sales the following changes have taken place in values : Greasy merino snperior washed merino superior, scoured superior, greasy merino medium and inferior, fine greasy crossbreds medium greasy crossbreds, *d to id per lb higher ; washed merino medium and inferior fine scoured crossbreds, par to od perib higher; medium washed crossbreds,' medium scoured crossbreds, coarse scoured crossbreds, greasy merino lambs superior greasy crossbred lambs, id per lb higher ; coarse greasy crossbreds, Id to Hd higher. Locally operations have not been extensive, though all parcels coming to hand are cleared at prices in favor of vendors. Sheepskins.— We have cleared a considerabie number of all descriptions during the week, and report a firm market at full rates. Crossbred pelts, 6d to Is 6d each ; broken and inferior, 2d to ; medium to good, 3|d to 4_& ; prime, 4-,-d to 5d per lb ; green skins, threequarters to full-woolled, 3s 6d to 4s ; extra prime 4s 3d to 4s 6d. Grain.— Wheat.— We have no change in the position of this market to report. Oats.— Operations during the week have been restricted at prices indicating a weaker tone. In view of the removal of the duty by the New South W ales Government, which takes place as at Ist September next, an early improvement in values may be looked for. The following London cablegram has been received by N.Z.L. & M.A. Company : -Frozen meats -Mutton market firmer. Canterbury aud AVellington mutton are worth 3fd and 3d per lb. Lamb market dull. Prime New Zealand lambs are worth per carcase 4£d per lb.
