At Kaiapoi to-day Henry Smith, hcensee of the Belfast Hotel, was fined £5 and costs, and the license endorsed, on a charge of supplying Hugh Henry, a prohibited person, with liquor. Henry was recently charged before the Kaiapoi Court and fined for drunkenness, and the same afternoon died while the dislocation of one "of his shoulders was bein'« reduced. ° Napier, Augusts. As the result of the police investigations into the case of the late Gerald Dowling, who, though a prohibited person, was able . to get drink, Elizabeth Scott has been fined £5 fbr procuring liquor for Dowling, and. also serif-en^ed tq three rporiths'' imprisonment for va^r£inCy" ' — * '
