[Per Press Association.] Wellington, August 2. Mr Pirani's Counties Act Amendment Bill was read a first time, and the second reading fixed for Monday. On the motion of the Hon. Mr MeCullugh, a motion was passed refusing to part of the Forest Reserve being withdrawn and used for settlement. The Native Townships and Property Law Consolidation Bills were read a third time and passed. The Deceased Husband's Brother Marriage Bill was thrown out by a majority of four. The New Zealand Institute of Journalists Bill was read a third time and passed.
