MR WRAGGE'S OPINION.
PKB PRESS ASSOCIATION) London, August 2. The newspapers generally contain complimentary notices on Herr Borchgrevnick, Heir Newmeyer and Dr Murray for the interest displayed in the Antarctic expedition, and declares it is impossible to exaggerate the importance of the papers read on the subject at the Geographical Conference. Sydney, August 2. Mr Wragge, Queensland meteorologist, in a letter to the Press with reference to the proposed Antarctic expedition states that data obtained would be of the highest importance as bearing on meteorologist problems affecting Australia, and that if a seasonal forecast is to be satisfactorily solved for Australia, it can only be by means of complete discussion on Antarctic factors and their bearing on Australian seasons. An immense light he says, would be thrown on the conditions attaching to the formation and development of disturbances, producing some heavier weather and curious ieasonal characteristics on the Austracion continent. Mr Wragge hopes that the colonies will most cordially assist the proposal.
