Presbyterian Conversazione.

Another of the popular Presbyterian conversazione gatherings was held in the Assembly Rooms last evening, the attendance being very good. The seats ■were arranged in groups so that anyone could move about conveniently or sit around one of the tables where draughts and other parlor games were provided. Illustrated periodicals were also placed on the tables and the hall was prettily decorated. The programme was contributed to by the following : — Mrs Caldwell, who played two pianoforte selections ; Mr W. B. Giesen recited " All's well that ends well " ; Mr DeLisle sang " Mary of Argyll " ; Miss L. Roe sang "Love's old sweet song"; Mrs Prior " Cleansing fire " ; Mr Treseder, " Simon the Cellarer," and " Get yer 'air cut," in response to an encore ; Miss Giesen, " The Gift " ; Mr Carty, " Bedouin love song " ; Miss E. Roe, " Old Madrid " ; Mr Greenwood, " The "Wolf ; Miss Diamond, " Alice, where art thou," a verse being repeated as an encore ; Mr Downey recited " Song of Home." The accompaniments were played by Mrs Ualdwell, Misses Giesen, Roe and Greenwood , and Mr S. Moore. During an interval ' refreshments were handed round. At ( the conclusion of the programme, Mr J. H, Stevens expressed the pleasure the committee felt at seeing a large attendance, and thanked those who had contributed to the programme. The gath- ' ering dispersed after singing a verse of , " Auld Lang Syne," and everyone went < home well pleased with the evening's ] amusement. " i
