1 O ' "*■• (PEE PBESS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, August 2. At a meeting of timber workers held today, the following resolution was passed unanimously : — That this meeting of timber workers views with alarm the proposal of the Government to allow Canadian timber and joinery to be imported into the Colony tree, believing it tobeaineana of crippling the industry and throwing numbers out of employment. It was also resolved to circulate a petition to the House of Representatives, amongst the female relatives of timber workers to enter their protest.
