Respecting the Armenian atrocities, it is reported that Turkey has consented to adopt the whole of the reforms in Armenia demanded hy the European Powers. Mr Gladstone addresses a public meetiug on Tuesday respecting the Armenia atrocities. Enormous damage has been caused at Monireus, a village near Lake Geneva, by the collapse of a bank. Rome, July 31. It is unofficially stated that Great Britain and Italy have concluded a treaty for united action in Africa. The two countries are to exert joint influence over Kasnla and Lielar. Signor Crispi, Premier of Italy, in a speech, stated that peace is being preserved chiefly through the agency of the Triple Alliance. He feared that Africa would yield the iirst spark that would kindle a European war. Italy possessed Erythrea and the Tigre country on the Red Sea littoral, and intended to remain there at all hazards. Sofia, July 31. The Turks have recaptured Menelk, taken by Macedonia, and are gradually repressing the insurgents. i'AHis, July 30. The Socialist and Radicals have suffered a great defeat in the French Departmental elections. Only 12 Socialists were returned.
