(Per Press Association.) Pekth, July 29. The reported find of a new rich reei at Mount Rugged, near Israelite Bay, has proved a duffer. On 3 hundred men who rushed the locality are re turning after enduring great hardships. Thiatleton, an Adelaide cyclist-, tracked the alleged discoveries for six days on a bicycle, covering one hundred miles. He had to cut his way and drag his machine through dense scrub, and for three days was without food. London, July 28. The Financial Times, referring to the Bendigo mines, expresses the opinion that Borne day Bendigo will vie with South Africa and \Vest Australia. Reefton, July 29. Mr Ziirian's proposals to purchase the Progress property have been accepted, he depositing £900 instead ot £'500 to sink the main shaft. The extraordinary meeting of the Globe Company has been adjourned, but it has been stated on good authority that the negotiations w.ll be satisfactorily closed, Mr Ziman giving £24,000 instead of £18,000. . .
