Dairy Conference.
(Per Press Association.) i Wellington, July 25. The Dairy Conference opened today. Present — Messrs Currie, Scott, Stevens, Stevenson, and Heenan, of the South Island ; North — Messrs Bollins, Baiff, Oldham, Booth, and Spencer. A motion to remove the head office to Wellington was rejected by the casting vote of Mr Currie (Mosgiel), chairman. It was decided to register the Association and a committee was appointed to arrange details. It was also decided that at each annual meeting five delegates from each island be appointed to meet once a year in Wellington to discuss matters affecting the Association. It was decided to register the Association in the form of a limited company with a nominal capital of £200 in £0 shares. Considerable discussion took place on the quesion whether the head office should be in Dunedin as now or in Wellington. The North Island members were very anxious to have it removed. Eventually the question was left for decision at the next general meeting. The provisional directors were appointed, and the articles of the Association will be sent to the members of both islands. The conference terminated this evening.
