(Per Pkess Association). Wellington, July 25. A deputation consisting of the Hon. McLean, Messrs Wilson, O'Regan, G. \V. Russell, Stevens, Lawry, M.sH.R., and a number of gentlemen interested in racing, waited on the Minister of Railways for the purpose of requesting him to convey racehorses to and from race meetings at single rates. Mr Stevens pointed out that Australia and India gave the concession asked for. The Hon. Mr McLean pointed out the deputation only asked for racehorses what was already granted to stock sent to agricultural shows The Minister promised to go fully into the question London, July 25 'I he following is the result of the Liverpool Cup : — Bushoy Park 1, Gazetier 2, fcJancho Panza 3. The Duke of Portland intends keeping the yearling colt by Carbine, from Novelette, until he is four or five years of age, and then trying lo win some of the long distance races at Ascot with him.
