: • * In connection with the letter of " One Interested " in Makino, and his proj posal to bridge the Kiwitea where it ' ero .ses Fo.-loi-g's r< ad to enable dairy farmers to conveniently carry their
nilk to the Cheltenham Factory, there s much common sense in what he jays. But, like many others who can snly see what th&y want themselves, he does not take into consideration the very important fact that such a bridge would cost money, and the Manchester Eoad Board, at the present juncture, ia not in a position to under take a work of the kind, owing to an insufficiency of the needful. How ever, the Board will meet on August 3rd, when a deputation of dairy farmers should avail themselves of that opportunity for giving expression to their wants, and to state what they are prepared to do themselves to justify the Board in going to any expense on their behalf. There is no time like the present, because the season is rapidly approaching when dairy farmers will be too much occupied with their stonk to give their attention to anything else than their farm work.
