Meeting of Hotelkeepers.

4 (Per Press Association.) Christchtjrch, July 23. At a meeting of hotelkeepers to-day a resolution was passed asking Government in the licensing legislation to make a provision declaring it illegal for houses to be " bound " to brewers. It was stated that a petition on the snbject had already been signed by 3058 persons. A resolution wss ciriied— " That in view of the recent cases in which fines were inflicted on hotelkeepers for selling to people representing themselves as travellers, a deputation from the meeting should wait upon the hotelkeepers and endeavour to get an unanimous a<*reenient to refuse all drinks on Sunday, and that the resolution should be forwarded to the Licensed Victuallers' Association."
