The Feilding Star, Oroua & Kiwiea Counties Gazette. Published Daily. JUESDAY, JULY 23, 1895. THE APITI BRIDGE.

The he seems now a probability that the very necessary work of erecting a bridge over the Oroua river at Apiti will be proceeded with at once. By a telegram received from Mr John Stevens, M.H.R., vre are informed that the Government has promised to place a further sum of two hundred and fifty pounds on the estimates to assist in carrying out the work. This amount added to that already sanctioned ought to justify the Pohangina County Council in calling for tenders without delay, after having obtained the official notice from the Colonial Treasurer that the money is available. We understand that if there should be any further delay it will not be the fault of the County Council.
