A. G-. Tame and Co. report of the markets for the week ending 20th Julj: Fat sheep— Values remain unaltered, 13s bemg top price for heavy weihers 11s 6d for medium ; heavy ewes, 10s to Us. Store sheep -JS 7 o alteration except that all coming forward are selling well: fresh wethers up to 9s: hoggets 5s to 5s 6d. Fat cattle we quote :-Best bullock beef 19s; cow beef 16s to 17s, and selling better. Store cattle— No transactions except in weaners, at 18, 20 and 235, and buyers ready to bo on Dairy cattle are easirg as spring calving approaches up to £8 for best cows. We are advised of another shipment of gocd pedigree Ajrshires from the South, to arrive for nest Hutt sale on fth Aujjus,. Sheepskins -Up to 5d per lb. tor best dry skins, 4 3 6i for best green skins, and good demand. WoolAdvices state market very firm, ana a rise of from 5 to 15 per cent, on last Biles, closing rates. Horses: -lhe wee weather militated against our sale, Dut we had a very good entry of all classes —principally draughts from the Wairarapa, but they were mostly too small for this market. Heavy draughts se 1 best here and they are nard to obtain. The sales were not so many as tsuai when we have a frocd entry, but some hoises exchanged hands after the sale. Quotations stand as follow: - -1 cung sound heavy draughts we can quote up to £30, but they must be good mid heavy ; medium draughts, sales £14 to £18; express horses, good sorts, ±10 to £15; medmm, £6 to £10; hacks, no - sale! We sold harness, traps and draj s at good prices.
