Abraham and Williams report : -Business for the week has been restricted to our Palmerston sale of Thursday. Stock of all classes was in excess of advertised numbers. The bulk of the sheep were of good quality. The demand at auction wai irregular ; although a fair proportion was passed in under the hammer we ultimately cleard all but one pen, sellers prices being well maintained throughout. A full yarding of cattle. Sheep Store wethers, 8s 6d ; fat ewes' and wethers, 9s lid; forward wethers, 7s 7d ; tat ewes, 8s 6d ; breeding ewes, 6s lOd to ts ; lOd; others, 5s 6d; culls, 2s 3d to ss; shorn lambs, mixed sexes, 4s od to os 7d; culls, 2s 3d. Cattle -Small weaners, 17s 6d ; others, 25s and 275; yearlings, 325; 2-yr steers, L 2 18s 6d ; lbmonth heifers, 36s ; 18 month steers L 2 Is; fat heifers, light weights, L 3 16s: springing heifers, L 4 5s to L 4 7s.
