THE COMMUNION CUP.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE STAR. Sir.—The article in last night's paper headed "Death in the Communion Cup " may, perhaps, cause needless alarm —needless at any rate among members of the Church of England. The clergyman administering the Cup should carry a fine linen napkin with which to wipe the lip of the vessel after each individual ha 3 partaken of the contents. This practice is now general and should, of course, be universal. It is carried out in Feilding. With caution thus exercised, risk of infection is so slight as perhaps not to exist at all. I am, etc., Lay Bbader. Foilding, July 17th, 1895.
