Messrs Abraham and Williams report : Business for the week has been restricted to our Palmerston sale of yesterday, stock of all classes were in excess of advertised unmbers. Sheep— Store wethers. 8s 6d ; fat wethers, 9s lid ; forward ewes and wethers, 7s 7d ; fat ewes, 8s 6d ; breeding ewes, Gs lOd to 7s lOd ; others, 5s 6d ; culls, 2s 3d to ss ; shorn lambs, mixed sexes, 4s 5d to 5s 7cl ; culls, 2s 2d. Catblc— Small weaherp, 17s 6d ; others, 25s and 27s ; yearling?, 32s ; 2-year steers, L 2 IBd 6d ; 18-mont'i heifers, 36s ; 18-month steers, L 2ls ; fat heifers, L 3 16s ; springing heifers, L 4 5s to L 5 7s. Addington market— Fat cattle— About 200 head penned, chiefly prime steers, some of which sold up to Ll2 2s per head ; prices about the| same as last week for most sorts, but slightly better for beef store and dairy cattle. Fat sheep — A fair average yarding, both as regards numbers and quality, bidding throughout the sale being good — in fact the most even sale we have had for a long time— prime heavy-weight crossbred wethers, selling at from 14s 9d to 16s lOd ; medium, 12s 6d to 14s ; prime merino wethers, lls 6d to 14s Id. Store sheep -A fair entry mostly 2 and 4-tooth crossbreds, for which competition was spirited, a line of very forward reaching as high as lls 2d, while several lots changed hands at from 9s 6d to 10s 9d ; crossbred hoggets best sorts, to 9s Id ; crossbred breeding ewes, mixed ages, 8s to 9s 9cl. Pigs —A medium yarding, mostly good baconers, Bidding slightly better, and prices hardened to the extent of about ; }d per Ib.
