Tory, j with Simson, Tory, for Southampton, ' which is Unionist gain ; Joseph i Chamberlain's majority was 4200. Additional election returns are — Lord Milton, Unionist, for Wakefield ; Lord Hugh Cecil, Tory, for Greenwich ; Farquhar, Unionist, for West Marylebone ; Labouchere, Liberal and X)jmcker, Tory, for Northampton, which is Unionist gain ; Holder, Tory, for Whitehaven ; Lord Bcutinck, Tory, for South Notitngham ; Hoare, Tory, for Norwich, with Bnllard, Tory, which is a Unionist gain. The Unionists also gain North East Bethuall Green (where Bhownagree, Indian, was elected) ; East Finsbnry, where Richards beat Rowlands ; Finsbury (Central), where Massoy Mainwaring beat Naoroji by 800 ; Haggerstou, where Lowles, Tory, beat Cremcr, Labor ; South Hackney, where Robertson, Tory, returned ; Stoke-upon-Trent, where Coghill beat Gowcr ; Yarmouth, Colomb, Tory; Bedford, P3 r m, Tory, beating Whitehcad ; Coventry, Murra}', Tor}'; Gloucester, Monk, Tory; North St. Pancras, Moon, Tory ; East Nottingham, Bond, Tory, beating Arnold Morley. The Liberals gain the Nottingham seat for Stockton-ou-Tecs ; Wrightson was elected for Scarborough, Reckett for Puerlyn, and Falmonth Horniman beating Cavendish Bentinck. July 17. Sir W. V. Harcourt contests West Monmouth, Warriugtou retiring tor that purpose. The most disastrous defeat of the Unionists has been at Bury, in Lancashire, where Sir 11. James, a member of the new Cabinet, has lost his seat. Further sitting members returned are : Healey and F. O'Brien, Nationalists, Cork; Wallace, Liberal, Edinburgh ; Sir J. Long and Robertson, Liberals, Dun dee; McCalmonr, Tory, Antrim ; Di!ke, Liberal, Forest of Dean; P O'Brien, Nationalist, Tippernry ; Cavendish, Uni-on-sfc, Derbyshire ; Martin, Unionist, Worcestershire; Maden, Liberal, Rossendnle; Tiute, Nationalist, West Meath ; R.Ambrose, Nationalist, Mayo; Biron Rothschild, Unionist, Avle=bur.y ; Capt. Donelnn, Nationalist, Cork ; Cummins, Nationalist, Cork ; Sir 11. Fletcher, Tory, Lewes. The returns so far are as follows : —
Later. Ml* Davitt's opponents contend his election as invalid. Kobson, Liberal, was elected for Sontli Shields; Cox, Unionist, beat Paul, Liberal, at South Edinburgh. The Parnelhtcs gain Kilkenny, where O'Brieu was elected. The sitting members were returned for Watcrford City, Galway City and St. Stephen's division of Dublin.
