(Per Press Association.) Wellington, July 11. The Council met at 2.30. Hon. Bolt moved a series of resolutions, the effect being to affirm tbe principle of placing on State lands all peoj !*> thrown out of work by no fault of their own and supplying them with agricultural implements. Hon. Pharazyn opposed th/ 9 resolutions as being visionary and calculated to take away the independence of the people. The debate was adjourned for a week. Hon. Feldwick's Defamation Bill, after a short debate, was read a second time, as also were the Hikutaia Boundary Block Bill and Industrial Schools Bill. The Council rose at 5 n m.
