EARLY CLOSING BILL. SMALL- POX PATIENTS. QUALIFICATIONS OF MEMBERS OF LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. PETROLEUM DISCOVERY. [Per Press Association.! Brisdaxe, July 10. The Early Closing Bill, introduced in the Assembly, provides for the closing of shop*, with a few exceptions, nt 6 p.m. daily and 10 on Saturdays, wi.h th« option of giving a weekly halfholiday instead of closing in the evening. It limits the hours for women and childred to 9\ per dny. A Bill has been introduced providing for the abolition of plural voting Adelaide, This Day. The Lusitania's smull-pox patients were landed nt Colombo, and there has been no further outbreak. The Government has given notice of an intention to introduce a Bill reducing the qualifications of electors for members of of the Legislative Council. A strong syndicate has been formed to test the alleged discovery of netroleum on the Victorian boundary. The report states samples of the bitumen have proved highly satisfactory.
