School Teachers' Certificates.
The Gazette of 29th June contains the list of teachers holding certificates or licenses under the Education Act, 1877." The following teachers in the service of the Wanganui Education Board, have had their certificates raised as indicated. The reason for promotion is shown by the letters " S " (for length of service) and "M " (marks awarded by Inspector for proficiency in teaching) : — Mr F. Newcombe (Waverley), from B 2 to 81, M ; Miss F. J. Davis (Kapuni), D 2 to Dl, M ; Mr G. H. Espiner (Bunnythorpe), D 2 to Dl, M ; Mr E. W. Tompkius, relieving teacher, D3to D 2, S ; Mr C. H. T. Bowater (Campbelltown(,E3to E2, S ; Mrs E. A. Howie (Aratika), E3 toE2,S; Miss A. McDonald (Marton), E3 to E2, M ; Miss E.
